One of house music’s most ardent and impassioned acts, GORDO, formerly known as Carnage, is partnering up with Framework, one of America’s leading underground house music event producers, as he sets his sights on Pershing Square, Los Angeles for a solo show on Saturday, August 20th.
Following last week’s TARAKA San Francisco announcement, which sold out in under two hours, GORDO continues to take the West Coast by storm, as he plans to transform Los Angeles’ Pershing Square into a tech-house mecca. The event will see GORDO take fans on a 5-hour dance-journey, filled with music influences garnered during his European Summer Tour, which will have seen him play everywhere from Ibiza to Tel Aviv, Athens, Mallorca, Mykonos, Helsinki, Berlin, and Vienna.
Pershing Square, which has previously seen acts such as Hot Since 82, Solomun, Four Tet, and Floating Points take the stage, will expand its world-renowned roster of performances as GORDO travels to Los Angeles with a jam-packed catalogue of tech-heavy sounds. The park, located in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, is set to be transformed into dance music’s finest open-air haven. GORDO has the honor of throwing the final gig at Pershing Square before it closes to undergo construction.
3 months after Diamanté Blackmon closed the chapter on his time as Carnage with a sold-out last ever ‘Thank You’ tour, which kicked off at Avalon Hollywood, then proceeded to take over New York City, and had its grand finale in Houston, Texas, he returns to the city with new energy, a new sound, a new name, and an entirely different musical experience. Arriving fresh off his European Summer Tour, GORDO is poised to give an iconic and memorable performance as he now combines his ever-growing passion for house music with some of Europe’s finest musical influences.
About GORDO
Diamanté Anthony Blackmon has already helped to define a global musical movement, but now he's doing it again: Gordo is a new house music alias from the artist previously known as Carnage. Blackmon has never been afraid to step into the unknown, and moving away from the hard-hitting, aggressive Carnage sound is certainly doing that. After rocking stages like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Tomorrowland, charting #1 Dance Album in the US and working with artists like Migos, Mac Miller, ILOVEMAKONNEN, Little Pump and Tyga, Diamanté’s gone full circle back to where he started playing house music at Ibiza parties. Gordo's debut single 'KTM' became an instant Top-10 hit on the Beatport Main Chart and with over 100 shows under his belt, his live sets are among the hottest dance parties of the moment. This new project is about educating younger fans who might not know about the roots of house music. It is a passionate, heartfelt beginning that will redefine house music for the next generation. From here it is all about making the music Diamanté wants to make. No going back.
